Learning how to play a musical instrument and learning how to play golf have a lot in common - a good sense of rhythm is required, and good instruction combined with lots of practice will pay great dividends.
Since 2004, Georgia Mahoney Golf has been based at the Arrowtown Golf Club, just 20 minutes from Queenstown, in beautiful Central Otago, New Zealand. At our golf schools and private lessons, emphasis is on learning the game of golf in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere, establishing achievable goals and setting you on your way!
Growing up in Western Canada, Georgia's love of golf began at age eight. Later on, she was a member of the University of British Columbia Golf Team which won the Canadian Intercollegiate Golf Championship and received the University's highest sports award. While at university Georgia studied Music Education and over the years she has also played the double bass in many professional orchestras, including the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
In 1996 Georgia returned to golf full time as a coach at the Hutt Valley Golf Centre in Wellington as well as running Golf Getaways specializing in two-day golf schools in the Martinborough wine region. In 2000 Georgia qualified for the LPGA as a Teaching & Club Professional Member. She is now the first to be able to bring all of the excitement and knowledge of the LPGA to New Zealand.
